Apple may be preparing a noticeable change for its 20th-anniversary iPhone lineup. According to a new leak, the iPhone 20 Pro display size could reach 6.41 inches, while the iPhone 20 Pro Max may come with a much larger 6.96-inch screen.
The information comes from Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station. The reported specifications are still early details and have not been confirmed by Apple. However, they give us an idea of how Apple could approach the display design of its 2027 iPhone lineup.
iPhone 20 Pro Display Size Could Increase Slightly
The rumored iPhone 20 Pro is expected to have a 6.41-inch display with a resolution of around 2,686 × 1,236 pixels. The Pro Max could feature a 6.96-inch panel with a resolution of approximately 2,912 × 1,340 pixels.
For comparison, the reported specifications are only slightly larger than the current Pro models mentioned in the leak.

So, the main goal may not be a major jump in sharpness. Instead, users could simply get a little more screen space.
A Nearly 7-Inch iPhone 20 Pro Max
The 6.96-inch figure is particularly interesting because it sits very close to the 7-inch mark. Earlier reports have suggested that Apple could potentially market such a display as a 7-inch screen if the final design allows it.
The bigger display does not necessarily mean a much larger phone. Slimmer bezels and changes around the edges could allow Apple to increase the usable screen area without dramatically increasing the overall size.
This approach is similar to how Apple increased the display sizes of the iPhone 16 Pro models by reducing bezels and making small changes to the device dimensions.
Apple May Be Testing a Borderless Display
The display size may not be the biggest change planned for the iPhone 20 Pro.
Digital Chat Station has also claimed that Apple is testing a “borderless quad-curved” display. This design would curve the screen around all four sides, potentially making the front of the phone look more like one continuous piece of glass.
Apple is also rumored to be exploring thinner OLED panels, under-display Face ID and possibly an under-display front camera. However, another possibility is a smaller Dynamic Island-style cutout.
That means Apple may still be testing different solutions for the front camera and Face ID hardware.
