Nintendo fans have a new reason to get excited. An official Nintendo Ocarina of Time instrument is now available at Nintendo Stores across Japan. The traditional musical instrument is inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and allows players to interact with the game through real melodies.
The launch is especially interesting because it arrives just hours before the expected release of the new Ocarina of Time remake, making it a special collectible for Zelda fans.
Nintendo Ocarina of Time Instrument: Price and Availability
Nintendo has started selling its official ocarina at four Nintendo Store locations in Japan. These include Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Fukuoka.
The instrument is priced at 5,500 yen, which is approximately $35 USD. Nintendo also plans to make it available more widely across Japan and through its online store later in November 2026.
However, fans outside Japan will need to wait. Nintendo has not yet shared any confirmed details about a US release.

How Does the Ocarina Work With Nintendo Switch 2?
The biggest highlight of this instrument is its connection with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
According to Nintendo, the instrument supports voice recognition from the game. Players can play a melody toward the Nintendo Switch 2 microphone, and Link will play along with the same tune inside the game.
This feature creates a more interactive experience than simply collecting a Zelda-themed musical instrument.
It also gives fans a chance to enjoy one of the most memorable parts of the original game in a more hands-on way.
A Special Collectible for Zelda Fans
The ocarina is not the only Zelda-inspired instrument getting attention. An electric ocarina manufactured by Hori is also part of the available product lineup.
However, Nintendo’s traditional version may attract fans who prefer a more classic musical experience.
For longtime players, the ocarina has a special place in the Zelda series. Music plays an important role in Ocarina of Time, and bringing a real instrument into the experience makes this launch particularly interesting.
Will the Ocarina Launch Outside Japan?
At the moment, Nintendo has not announced an international release date or confirmed availability in the United States.
Fans will have to wait for further updates. Still, the planned wider availability in Japan later this month gives interested buyers another opportunity to purchase it.
The Nintendo Ocarina of Time instrument is a fun combination of gaming, music and nostalgia. At around $35, it could become an attractive collectible for Zelda fans who want to bring a little piece of Hyrule into the real world.
